It is not easy to always eat healthy, or make sure your kids do. Countless times, I have picked up my kids' broccoli, peas, or carrots off the floor from their refusal to eat them (obviously, my kids are a bit younger, as I can't really picture a 10 year old throwing food). What kind of a kid doesn't like carrots??? The important thing is to at least offer it. Then, just maybe you'll get to see you child eat roasted broccoli with no pretesting, and they may even love it!
I would love the opportunity to help families by giving tips, tricks and recipes to help feed their families with in a reasonable budget, in a healthy way. Today, the moderate family-of-four grocery budget of $881.20. This is insane. I used to not keep track of my grocery budget, and I was shocked when I realized what we were spending. So I made some changes, which I will include in this blog.
Growing up, we were never short on pop tarts, sugar cereals, or the beloved canned condescended soup. It wasn't until I was older and living on my own that I began to care about the food I was eating. Now, providing a healthy lifestyle is a constant challenge, an important one no less, and I have great intentions of passing that along to my readers, peers, and children.
I would love to hear ideas, successes, fails, recipes or whatever you would like to share.
